Breast Cancer Education Project Grant
The Beth C. Tortolani Foundation is offering grants for
existing or new programs with innovative projects regarding breast cancer meeting
the following criteria:
• informational programs directed towards individuals diagnosed with breast
cancer
• informational programs directed towards the families of individuals
diagnosed with breast cancer
• informational support programs for the community referencing breast
cancer
GRANT AWARD PERIOD: One year
APPLICATION DEADLINES: 2/1/10, 5/1/10, 8/15/10, 10/l/10
FUNDING: $1,000-$10,000

Half day seminar for breast cancer patients providing useful information during and after diagnosis. Specialists are provided in the field of nutrition, alternative therapies, physical therapy, humor, yoga and exercise therapy to help alleviate anxiety.

Promotes breast cancer awareness and helps identify undetected breast cancers among women in the workforce.

This project is designed to gather data specific to genetic risk with breast cancer patients and their daughters and create a training curriculum to establish clinical strategies for communicating this risk to women.

Free, professional support services including education, information, referrals to additional sources of support, counseling and financial assistance is provided to women diagnosed with breast cancer on Long Island.
